The good weather windows throughout May are generally very hard to come buy but we were very spoilt to kick off the month with some stunning days on the water.
We departed the marina nice and early to shoot out to the Channel to chase some Nannygai. The first spot we looked at we found a very attractive looking sounder with large schools of fish sitting up off the bottom. The first drift got the blood pumping as all 4 of our customers had tight lines and big smiles. Landing 3 of the 4 Nannygai that was hooked the day was off to a great start. These fish were huge its always great to see big schools of quality size fish.
By about 0930 the wind had completely dropped out and the ocean was starting to go glassy. We spent the day fishing the shipping channel and it didn’t seem to matter where we went the action didn’t stop. Not only were the fish chewing but they were all monsters the measuring board was not needed. With nice small tides we were able to target the deep water all day.
All round it was a magic day on the water we ended up with a great mix bag of fish including Grassy Sweetlip, Nannygai and the almighty Gold Band Snapper.
