Fishing Adventure August 2020

Sometimes we get lucky and all the stars align for a perfect days fishing. On Saturday, the 15th of August 2020 was one of those days. With not a breath of wind, nice small tides and 2 full boats of keen fishers, we set off at sun rise all pumped up for a great day on the water.

As both boats shot off in different directions from the marina it was a race to the channel to chase some big red fish. The Lone Wolf II decided to head a little further north on the hunt for some Nanny’s and The Gun decided to start on some deeper shoals hoping to snag a Red Emperor.

Onboard the Gun our day started off quite slow with heaps of smaller species of fish coming over the sides and sadly a few bigger fish were dropped but hey that’s fishing. Just on the low tide we managed to land a beautiful big Red. As the tide picked up again we headed to the reef to try and get some more table fish for the eski. After a few hours of hard fishing we bailed on the reef as it wasn’t playing the game. We headed for the deep again to give it another go and managed to find a hungry school of Large Mouth Nannygai and the boys were stoked. We landed some monsters and got some good quality fish on ice. With a eski full we headed for home over the glassed out ocean.

The Lone Wolf II ended up with a eski full of solid Nannygai which they got onto earlier in the morning and then targeted the reef for some Spanish Mackerel.

Every day on the ocean is different some days fishing seems easy and other days they make you work for it. We were very happy with our end results from both vessels. What a day!

If you would like to see the videos from both vessels follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Its well worth the watch.

Whatever your fishing style, give us a call at Action Charters and we will put together a package that will have you coming back for more.
